THE RELATIVES OF THE ARMENIAN SOLDIERS, DIED IN PEACE-TIME, HAVE BLOCKED TODAY THE ENTRANCES TO THE RESIDENCE OF ROBERT KOCHARIAN

The relatives of the Armenian soldiers who died in the army in peace-time under obscure circumstances, have blocked today morning the entrances to the residence of the president of Armenia. Besides, some of them, taking each other by the hand, have blocked the way the presidential procession drives up to the residence. The behavior of the law-protecting bodies is extremely proper, and they are persuading the picketers to stop the action.
The relatives of the soldiers, discontented with the activity of the Military Prosecutor’s Office of Armenia, have been picketing the residence of the president under the slogans “The Military Prosecutor’s Office defends the murderers” for a few days already. They do not believe the official versions of their children’s death, the most widespread of them being “suicide” and ” careless weapon handling “.
The relatives of the died soldiers have declared earlier that unless their demands are satisfied and the president provides the impartial investigation of the criminal cases by the Military Prosecutor’s Office, they are ready for drastic measures, in particular, to start an open-ended hunger-strike. –0–
