17.07.2000, MEDIAMAX, YEREVAN. The regional cooperation, within the frameworks of TRACECA and INOGATE programs in particular, will create conditions for forming atmosphere of trust in the region. As was reported to MEDIAMAX in the press office of the president of Armenia, the director on the Caucasus and Central Asia issues of the general administration of the European Committee for foreign affairs, Cornelis Wittebrood stated this today at the meeting with Robert Kocharian on July 15.
The sides stated that the Agreement about cooperation and partnership, signed in 1999 between the countries of the South Caucasus and the European Union, is of great significance. It was noted that the council and the committee of the cooperation are already working within the frameworks of the agreement, while in the near future the subcommittee on trade, investments and economic cooperation will begin to function. Possibilities of activating cooperation in the frameworks of TACIS program are also being studied. -0-
