Mashable, one of the most popular online tech and news website released the list of winners for Mashable Awards 2011. This year the different award categories were Social Media, Tech, Business and Entertainment.
In Social Media category, Facebook won the title of Best Social Network; Microsoft founder Bill Gates was named the Must-Follow Business Personality on Social Media; U.S. President Barack Obama became the Must-Follow Politician on Social Media.
iPhone 4S was named the ‘Best Smartphone’ and ‘Best New Gadget’ is the Apple iPad 2 in Technology nomination. Super Junior Shake was named the Best Mobile Game; imo Instant Messenger was announced as the Most Useful Mobile App; Flipboard won in Most Useful Tablet-Based App nomination.
In Business category, NOH8 Campaign was announced the Viral Campaign of the Year, Coke was awarded for the Most Innovative Use of Social Media for Marketing; Get Glue was named the Breakout Startup of the Year.
In Entertainment category, Spotify was announced as Best Music Service or App, with YouTube selected as the Best Online Video Streaming Service or App; Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows – Part 2 was named the Best Social Movie Campaign.
WWE and its Superstars were named winners in six prestigious 2011 Mashable Awards categories, including "Must Follow Brand on Social Media" and "Digital Company of the Year."
The Mashable Awards, rewarding the year's best in digital and social media, saw WWE take home trophies in the following categories: Digital Company of the Year: WWE; Must Follow Brand on Social Media: WWE; Must Follow Actor on Social Media: Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson; Must Follow Athlete on Social Media: John Cena; Game of the Year: THQ's WWE '12; Best Social Good Cause Campaign: be a STAR.
The Mashable Awards winners will be honored at MashBash on Wednesday, January 11, 2012 at the brand new 1OAK Nightclub in the Mirage Hotel and Casino during CES in Las Vegas.
