The authorities and society must support Armenian Defense Minister Seyran Ohanyan in his struggle to purge the army from those unworthy of their military uniforms, the director of Regional Studies Center said.
At news conference in Yerevan, Richard Giragosian slammed the Chief of the General Staff Yuri Khachaturov, presidential advisor, ex-Defense Minister Mikael Harutyunyan and other military officials for their neglect.
Dwelling on tragic deaths in Armenian army, the expert urged for serious steps to strengthen discipline. “A death of an Armenian soldier at the hand of his compatriot is unacceptable,” Giragosian stressed.
