Director General of Mosfilm Russian Film Studio Karen Shakhnazarov refuted media reports about his possible appointment as Minister of Culture.
“I don’t’ know anything about it, but now I prefer to shot films, as this is the sense of my life,” Shakhnazarov said, RIA Novosti reports.
Minister of Culture Alexander Avdeyev said that that in compliance with the Russian constitution he will resign after the Russian presidential elections to be held in March. He said he doesn’t plan to return to this post and intends to take up another job.
Avdeyev didn’t name the possible candidates for the post and only noted that there are “many good, worthy and energetic people”.
According to media reports, Denis Molchanov, the Director of the Government Culture and Education Department, Grigory Ivliyev, the Deputy Minister of Culture and the Director Shahnazarov are the possible candidates for Russian Minister of Culture.
