As a part of European Integration policy, Armenia plans to start talks with the European Union on joining free trade agreement under the EU Association Agreement, Armenian Economy Minister said.
As Tigran Davtyan told a press conference, works were carried out in 2011 particularly in the field of standardization.
“The outcomes of the works done will be presented to the EU Trade Commission, which in February will announce whether Armenia is ready for launch of talks,” Minister Davtyan stated.
He further attached importance to the regime that will enable Armenian companies to directly enter European markets and boost export volume. In this context, the Economy Minister pointed out the progress achieved in the framework of facilitating trade regime with CIS countries.
