Former presidential administration head to run as independent candidate – paper

Former head of Armenian President Serzh Sargsyan’s administration Karen Karapetyan is going to run for the parliamentary elections by majority system in constituency 32 (in Lori province).

As Haykakan Zhamanak daily reports, Karapetyan is likely to be nominated as an independent candidate instead of being included in the list of the Republican Party of Armenia.

Karapetyan who is also member of the RPA executive body, has never entered the Party’s office since his resignation 6 months ago though, according to the paper, he is regularly invited to all RPA sessions. The composition of the RPA executive body will soon undergo changes, the paper reports, and Karapetyan will hardly agree to join it again.
