Harry Potter star Daniel Radcliffe nominated for Empire Award

Daniel Radcliffe could be saying goodbye to Harry Potter with an award after he was nominated for a best actor gong for his role in the last instalment of the hit films, UKPA reported.

The star, currently appearing in his first post-Potter role in The Woman In Black, is up against names including Daniel Craig, Ryan Gosling and Gary Oldman at this year's Jameson Empire Awards.

Other nominations see The Inbetweeners take on Woody Allen in the battle for best film and Olivia Colman nominated along with Oscar-winner Meryl Streep for best actress.

Harry Potter And The Deathly Hallows – Part 2 and crime drama Drive dominate the awards, which will be held in central London on March 25, with five nominations each.

The Rise Of The Planet Of The Apes, Attack The Block, Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy and The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo follow with nominations across four categories.

This year's awards, which are voted for by readers on Empire magazine's website, are being hosted by journalist Chris Hewitt and Lauren Laverne, who said she "couldn't be happier" to be doing it.
