Swiss Aliose band to perform in Armenia

Popular Aliose band from Switzerland will perform in Armenia. The concert is organized by the Swiss Embassy in Armenia in collaboration with KASA Foundation.

As the Swiss Embassy informed a PanARMENIAN.Net reporter, the concert is scheduled to take place in Mezzo Club in Yerevan on March 23 and in Gyumri's central park on March 24.

Ever since their first album came out in 2008, Aliose has been increasingly successful and became more and more famous in Switzerland and abroad.

Their numerous awards, both from professionals and from an increasingly faithful public (Coup de Cœur Claude Lemesle 2006 award in Paris, Utopia 2006 award in Besançon, 2 Oreilles 2009 award in Saint-Etienne, Audience Award at the Voix de Fête 2010 festival in Geneva, 5 awards at the Médaille d’or de la chanson in Saignelégier), foresee a promising future for the young Swiss band.

A new acoustic dimension was reached thanks to the cellist Zéphyrin Rey-Bellet, who joined the band comprising Alizé Oswald, Xavier Michel and Sara Oswald in 2010.

Aliose participated in Switzerland's national selection for Eurovision International Song Contest in 2011 and 2012.

The concert of the band is Switzerland's contribution to the month of Francophonie (mois de la francophonie) which is traditionally marked in Armenia every spring. Events are organized in many countries worldwide arousing public interest towards the French culture.
