On March 21, Armenian Foreign Minister Edward Nalbandian received credentials from the newly-appointed internuncio of the Holy See, Archbishop Marek Solchinski. Congratulating the delegate on the appointment, Minister Nalbandian hailed the relations between Armenia and Vatican, based on Christian values, historical bilateral ties, vast cultural and spiritual heritage. Armenian FM voiced confidence for the Vatican delegate to contribute to strengthening bilateral relations.
Thanking the Minister, Archbishop Solchinski, in turn, noted the existence of prerequisites for the development of bilateral ties, stressing his readiness to do the utmost for expanding and deepening the cooperation.
The parties further underlined the importance of RA President Serzh Sargsyan’s recent visit to Vatican, and his meeting with Pope Benedict XVI as a proof of high-level bilateral relations.
