After two years of talking it is almost time for junior middleweight contenders Vanes Martirosyan and Erislandy Lara to go toe-to-toe in the ring at the Wynn Casino in Las Vegas, Nev. The two fighters did not want to wait until Saturday, Nov 10 night to mix it up, as the two got into a pushing match at the pre-fight weigh-in Friday.
After Martirosyan (153 lbs) and Lara (153.5 lbs) weighed in, the two got together for the standard face-to-face photo-op. As the trash talk progressed Lara did not take kindly to Martirosyan waving his finger in his face and shoved his opponent out-of-the-way.
The melee was quickly halted by security, letting the two fighters save the action for when they meet in the ring. The supporters of the two fighters in the crowd tried to get into their own scuffle, but luckily they were on separate sides of the theater and security made sure the only brawl that would go down would be the bouts taking place Saturday night, fighthubtv.com reported.
