David Danielyan, an MP from the ruling Civil Contract party, stated that the so-called "Zangezur Corridor" is unacceptable to the people of Syunik and the Armenian nation as a whole. He shared this message on his official Facebook page.
“There can be unblocking of transport routes under the principles of Armenia's sovereignty and national jurisdiction, leaving no room for misinterpretation.
The term ‘Zangezur Corridor’ and related speculations are unacceptable. I call on the Armenian media not to introduce or use this misleading term,” Danielyan wrote.
He also emphasized the importance of following the official statements from Armenia’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs and refraining from spreading misinformation.
Earlier, Armenia’s Deputy Foreign Minister Mnatsakan Safaryan stated that Armenia is not opposed to subcontracting road management in Syunik if principles are respected. The Ministry later clarified that Safaryan’s words were distorted by media outlets and social media users.
“The Deputy Foreign Minister reaffirmed Armenia’s principled stance on the unblocking of regional connections, repeatedly emphasizing key principles for Armenia—sovereignty, territorial integrity, and national jurisdiction. He categorically rejected any notion of oversight by a third party,” the Foreign Ministry stated.
