France vows stronger cooperation with Armenia

On July 14, Prime Minister of Armenia Nikol Pashinyan held a private meeting with French President Emmanuel Macron at the Élysée Palace. The Armenian leader congratulated Macron on France’s National Day and wished prosperity and well-being to the friendly nation of France.

President Macron expressed gratitude for the kind wishes and reaffirmed his commitment to expanding and deepening France’s multifaceted cooperation with Armenia.

The two leaders discussed a range of agenda topics related to Armenia–France relations, including the progress of joint programs.

Prime Minister Pashinyan also addressed the recent discussions in Brussels, underscoring his government’s objective to deepen cooperation with the European Union.

The conversation also touched on issues of regional significance.

Following the trilateral meeting in Brussels between Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan, European Council President António Costa, and European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen, a joint press release was issued affirming the EU’s and Armenia’s commitment to advancing their partnership. The EU reiterated its support for Armenia’s “Crossroads of Peace” initiative, aimed at enhancing regional connectivity and reconciliation.

Under the Global Gateway strategy, EU investments in Armenia are now projected to reach €2.5 billion, promoting inclusive growth and connectivity.
