RA President’s meetings with Armenian community representatives do not bear formal nature. President aims to introduce his position and listen to Diaspora’s opinions and concerns over Armenian-Turkish Protocols, RPA member Karen Avagyan told a PanARMENIAN.Net reporter. Despite existing concerns, most Diaspora representatives are for Armenian-Turkish rapprochement, he said. Avagyan believes Protocol ratification by Armenian Parliament does not depend on Turkish legislative body. In the meantime, he noted that parliamentary coalition was for ratification.
«If Turkish Parliament refuses to ratify Protocols, documents will be declared null and void, and Turkey will have to give explanations to international community.» Avagyan said.
Besides, he added that in case of border opening, Georgia will have to reconsider its transit tariffs since the prices it offers to Armenia are incredible.
