Agreement on CSTO Rapid Reaction Force will be submitted to the RA National Assembly for ratification in February, chairman of the parliamentary committee on defense, national security and internal affairs Hrayr Karapetyan said.
“Armenia is a an active member of the Collective Security Treaty Organization,” he said. As to relations with NATO, Mr. Karapetyan said they are successfully developing.
The Collective Security Treaty Organization (CSTO) is a security grouping comprising the former Soviet republics of Armenia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Russia, Uzbekistan and Tajikistan. The rapid-reaction force agreement was signed by the leaders of all CSTO member states in the Kremlin on February 4, 2009.
