The West is pressuring Turkey to speed up rapprochement process, aiming to gain direct access to China after Armenia-Turkey border opening, Sardarapat initiative leader Zhirayr Sefilyan said.
As he told a news conference in Yerevan, the West realized China’s expansion can no longer be resisted through Russia, so it resolved to blaze a safer trail through the region. “The West wishes to raise a wall to protect itself from China. This is the reason behind actualization of pan-Turkism,” Sefilyan noted, adding that superpowers intend to force Russia out of the region, using Armenia-Turkey reconciliation. China and Iran are the most beneficial strategic partners to Armenia, Zhirayr Sefilyan stated in conclusion.
