Armenia’s political system is still in the stage of formation; Armenian community has not yet developed a discussion culture, Republican Party of Armenia (RPA) parliamentary group member Artak Zagaryan stated.
As he noted at the conference entitled Political Discussion in Armenia: Obstacles and Opportunities, an effective discussion is a guarantor of correct political resolutions.
As Heritage parliamentary group leader Stepan Safaryan noted, the level of the development of the political system of the state is proportionate to that of a discussion culture. “Lack of effort on behalf of the authorities and restriction of media freedom are responsible for the situation,” he said.
“In the end, any political discussion in Armenia descends to personalities,” ARF Dashnaktsutyun parliamentary group member Ruzanna Arakelyan stressed.
