Saying when a new war in Karabakh may burst out is not correct, a Russian expert said.
“Great number of factors should be taken into account. World powers are not interested in a new war and exert every effort to maintain both military parity and status quo. Global security issues should also be considered,” editor-in-chief of the scientific society of Caucasus specialists’ portal Andrey Areshev told a PanARMENIAN.Net reporter.
Citing the examples of Kosovo and South Sudan, the noted that separatist processes are continuous across the globe. “During the recent times, the term ‘separatism’ is conceived negatively. Actually, it’s not so at all. This is an ordinary political term,” he noted.
At that, he emphasized that the existence of ‘abstract principles’ like Madrid ones, in case with Karabakh, can help maintain peace.
