Board chairman of the Armenian National Movement (ANM) Aram Manukyan doesn’t not rule out a crackdown on protesters during the March 1 rally, like it was in 2008.
“Certainly, the authorities are ready to use force, scaring the people by possible bloodshed,” he told a PanARMENIAN.Net reporter.
At that, he noted that some factors that can prevent possible violence, including reaction of the international community. Another important factor, according to him, will be the number of protesters. “The actions of the authorities are determined by the number of demonstrators, should this be large, the leadership will be retrained,” he noted.
