OSCE CiO regrets death of Armenian soldier

OSCE Chairman-in-Office, Lithuanian Foreign Minister Audronius Azubalis voiced regret of the death of Armenian serviceman, who was killed by the Azerbaijani armed forces on March 17.

During a joint news conference with Armenian Foreign Minister in Yerevan, Mr. Azubalis said the OSCE urges the sides to observe the Sochi presidential statement and withdraw snipers from the frontline.

“The Nagorno Karabakh conflict should be resolved peacefully, through initiating a dialogue alleviating tensions at the contact line. If we want a peaceful resolution, a conversation without saber rattling is needed,” he said.

Minor steps like withdrawal of snipers and conduction of round-the-clock monitoring would be a good start, according to the OSCE CiO.
