Armenian parliament speaker urges Heritage leader to stop hunger strike

Speaker of the Armenian parliament Hovik Abrahamyan said he can possibly visit leader of Heritage party Raffi Hovannisian, who continues hunger strike in Liberty Square.

During the March 24 briefing, Abrahamyan urged Hovannisian to stop the hunger strike and return to the parliament.

“Hovannisian is our colleague and National Assembly member, thus it is possible that parliament members will visit him at any moment,” Abrahamyan said, adding that it would be right if members of Heritage parliamentary group terminate the boycott and resume their parliamentary activity.

On March 21, member of the Armenian parliament Victor Dallakyan urged MPs and heads of parliamentary groups to go and see Raffi Hovannisian, who went on a hunger strike on March 15.
