Coordinator of the Armenian National Congress (ANC) Levon Zurabyan said the congress does not have a certain plan of actions, if the authorities fail in meeting its demands.
ANC now discusses various offers, while the final plan will be adopted by the people during the April 28 rally, Zurabyan told a press conference in Yerevan.
“It is a political process and we should conceive for what the people and political forces are ready,” he said.
Zurabyan noted that ANC leader Levon Ter-Petrossian has not delivered an ultimatum to the authorities yet. Ter-Petrossian just noted that if the authorities do not meet the opposition’s demands, April 28 will mark separation between the authorities and public.
During the April 8 rally, ANC leader Ter-Petrossian demanded from the authorities that they release all “political prisoners,” allow free organization of rallies at Liberty Square, as well as investigate the March 1, 2008, events.
According to him, fulfillment of these demands is needed for a dialogue between the authorities and opposition. Otherwise, Ter-Petrossian promised that the ANC will sharply change the strategy of its struggle.
