The Armenian National Congress (ANC) opposition bloc representative Gurgen Yeghiazaryan believes that in case of fair elections, the ANC will get 80-90 seats in the new parliament.
“If they [authorities] do not bring “painters” to the elections to draw figures, our trustees are not kidnapped from polling stations, if the dead and emigrants do not vote, fair elections will provide us with 80-90 seats in the new parliament,” Yeghiazaryan told a news conference in Yerevan.
According to him, ANC will combat those forces which have worn the country out.
For his part, Lernik Aleksanyan, member of Republican Party of Armenian parliamentary group, noted that if ANC gets 80-90 seats in the parliament, people forming the backbone of the Congress will come to office and will continue the work they did not complete in the 1990s.
Parliamentary elections in Armenia are due in May 2012.
