The Armenian National Platform of the Eastern Partnership Civil Society Forum will meet with EU representatives on September 22 in Yerevan to discuss the involvement of civil society ahead of the Eastern Partnership Summit. The event will take place in Congress Hotel, Picasso Hall at 2pm.
Bringing together representatives of the EU Delegation to Armenia, the CSF National Platform and government administration, the meeting aims at boosting dialogue among all parties in the framework of the Eastern Partnership. It will be an occasion to inform members of the CSF National Platform of the upcoming Eastern Partnership Summit in Warsaw, as well as a conference Towards a European community of democracy, prosperity and stronger civil society which will be held as a side event to the Summit.
This meeting comes in the context of the new approach of the European Neighborhood Policy, which, among other elements, aims at strong dialogue between governments and civil society organizations on main areas of cooperation with the EU. This dialogue would also be part of a Neighborhood Civil Society Facility, which is currently under preparation. The Eastern Partnership Civil Society Forum was established in 2009 to promote contacts among civil society and facilitate their dialogue with public authorities.
