In April 2005 in one of the central squares of Lyons French city a monument to victims of the Armenian Genocide in Ottoman Turkey will be opened. A measure devoted to the laying of the monument was held in the City Hall March 15. Lyons Mayor Gerard Colomb and Armenian Ambassador to France Eduard Nalbandian participated in the event. “The availability of monuments, symbolizing the memory of victims of the Armenian Genocide, in France is an important factor in struggle against denial of crimes against humanity,” the Armenian Ambassador noted at the ceremony.
