IMF DEMANDS ARMENIA PAY OFF DEBTS TO TURKMENISTAN

The International Monetary Fund (IMF) has obliged Armenia to return its state debt to Turkmenistan. As reported by “RusEnergy,” according to the IMF data, Armenia has not settled the debt to the Turkmen government since 2001, while the republic transfers funds to other creditors in a timely manner. The fund leadership considers such attitude towards Turkmenistan, which is an IMF member since 1992, inadmissible. As resolved by the IMF, Armenia has to pay back its debt to Turkmenistan in cash and commodity supplies before the turn of the year. Let us note that Turkmenistan itself did not participate in the talks on its money held between the IMF and Armenia.
