HIGHWAY CONNECTING RUSSIA WITH GEORGIA AND ARMENIA BLOCKED BY SNOW SLIP

The automobile communication between Russian and the South Caucasian republics of Georgia and Armenia is ceased for uncertain period of time. As reported by the Caspian News Agency, due to snow slip the traffic at the Transcaucasian highway joining the North and South Osetia is cut off. Detachments of the Russian defense ministry are sent to clear the road. Weather forecasters predict that the threat of snow slips in North Osetia may persist another ten days. To speed up the snow slide and release the highway specialists shell lots representing avalanche danger with special cannons.
