Areximbank-Gazprombank Group to add ATMs, POS-terminals in 2012

Areximbank-Gazprombank Group CJSC will increase the total number of ATMs and POS-terminals in 2012, making it 83 and 300 respectively. In comparison with 2011, their number is expected to rise by 25 and 100, respectively.

“This is linked to the bank's ambitious plans to develop card business in Armenia and introduce new services in 2012,” deputy general director of Areximbank-Gazprombank Group Ruben Khachatryan said.

Khachatryan voiced confidence that non-cash payment services will see a significant development in the coming years.

“The plastic cards market in Armenia is already developing rapidly due to tough competition among the banks. This is proved by drastic increase of cards emission and transactions, as well as new card services introduced by Armenian banks recently,” he stated.

Bank’s representative also confirmed the experts' forecast as to the tendency towards reduction of commission fees charged by banks for issue and service of debit cards in 2012.
