Prosperous Armenia members allegedly arrested for bribing – paper

The Republican Party of Armenia (RPA) started arresting people for electoral bribing, Yerkir paper reports.

According to Yerkir's data, RPA assisted in detaining 3-4 members of the Prosperous Armenia party who distributed electoral bribes in Charentsavan town on May 2.

On May 3, the paper tried to get official confirmation from the police; PR department of the police said there are no detainees.

Later paper learned that several people were really arrested in Charentsavan but they were released several hours later.

According to Yerkir, RPA has now changed its tactics trying to avoid tensions, with only a couple of days left before the parliamentary elections.
