TURKISH PARTY DEMANDED TO STOP SALE OF SHIP, WHICH HAD VIOLATED GEORGIAN TERRITORIAL WATERS

March 26 a suit of the Turkish party was received at a court of Poti Georgian city requesting to cease the auction of “Shekel-Baba” Turkish ship, which was arrested by Georgian frontier guards in the territorial waters of Georgia at the turn of 2002. As noted by “Arminfo” agency, the Poti court resolved January 2003 to fine the ship $30 thousand for violating territorial waters of Georgia. In his turn the Georgian department of state frontier defense imposed a fine upon “Shekel-Baba” for the sum of $100 thousand. Both fines came into effect, due to which the vessel was put up for auction.
