Only Turkey can decide whether to enter troops to Iraq or not – for humanitarian considerations or preventing acts of terrorism. Turkish foreign minister Abdullah Gul stated due to the US and EU notification of undesirability of entering Turkish troops to North Iraq due to the possible collision with Iraqi Kurds. As reported by Turkish media, “De Facto” agency reports, negotiations on possible entrance of Turkish troops to North Iraq will be continued one of these days. Let us note that several thousand Armenians live in the north of Iraq near the Iraqi-Turkish frontier. Thus, Armenia is highly concerned over the possibility of Turkish troops being sent to the territory. Armenian foreign minister Vardan Oskanian supposes it is pregnant with additional complications and serious negative consequences for the region.
