Orinats Yerkir MP list not final yet, paper says

On May 14, Orinats Yerkir party published its list of deputies for the new National Assembly. However, according to Hraparak paper, the list is not final yet, with mandates of “Nelson Zuloyan and David Karapetyan, ranking respectively 9th and 10th on the list, still to be confirmed”.

The party is trying to shift these two to executive positions, the paper says.

Karapetyan was offered to take the post of the deputy minister for energy and natural resources, while Zuloyan might become deputy healthcare minister. “Still, they did not agree insisting they see their future activities in the parliament only,” Hraparak reports.

According to the paper’s data, talks are underway with some deputies on “making way to the young, but they demand at least a minister’s position instead, claiming that even a deputy minister’s position would be humiliating for them.

So, the list was published to calm down the passions for now; negotiations are still continuing, and some deputies, in particular, Ishkhan Khachatryan, may yield their mandates to others, Hraparak says.
