168 Hours says that head of Gyumri office of the opposition Armenian National Congress, member of Republic party Ashot Zakaryan quit his position and ANC membership on May 14.
Zakaryan said the reason for this is cooperation of ANC with the coalition Prosperous Armenia party.
“It is no secret that Prosperous Armenia is considered to render political support to ex-president Robert Kocharian. By boosting the profile of this party, we assist Kocharian in his return to power,” statement of ex-member of ANC said.
“I have no wish to be part of this process and support Kocharian’s comeback,” the daily quotes Zakaryan as saying.
