Justice Minister: new PM, ministers to be appointed early June

Justice Minister believes the new Prime Minister will be appointed and Armenian government formed in early June, i.e. before procedure-stipulated 50-day term.

At May 17 news conference Hrayr Tovmasyan reiterated the order of the election of a new Prime Minister and new government formation.

“Following disbandment of standing government, the PM and Armenian ministers leave their posts to temporary perform their duties till the new PM is appointed by the President within a 10-day term, following a consultation with parliament groups.

During the next 20 days, the President appoints the new ministers. The appointments are followed by a new government program to be submitted for parliamentary confirmation, which takes 20 more days.”
