Paper: Hovhannisyan renounced deputy seat at the point of Tsarukyan’s “Vertu phone”?

According to 168 Zham daily, Prosperous Armenia party leader Gagik Tsarukyan had a hard time trying to persuade Armenian Political Experts’ Union chair Hamayak Hovhannisyan to renounce his deputy mandate.

“According to media reports, President Sargsyan demanded for Hovhannisyan to renounce his parliamentary seat. The latter tried to retain his mandate, attempting lengthy explanations as to why he should keep the seat.

As the sources say, at one point, Tsarukyan lost temper and aimed a gun at Hovhannisyan, who eventually renounced his mandate.

Hovhannisyan, however, attempted to refute the information when asked for comment by 168 Zham reporter. “I don’t comment on rumors”, he said,” according to 168 Zham.

In April 2012, during the election campaign in the town of Etchmiadzin, a gust revealed a gun stuck in the party Tsarukyan 's belt. Tsarukyan declared this was just a Vertu phone, while former Foreign Minister, now member of the Prosperous Armenia, Vartan Oskanian, claimed he believes this was really a pistol.
