NORMALIZATION OF ARMENIAN-TURKISH RELATIONS SHOULD BE CONSIDERED “POLITICAL CRITERION” FOR TURKEY’S ACCESSION TO EU, EUROPEAN RAPPORTEUR SAID

The European Parliament rapporteur on Turkey, Dutch parliament deputy Arie Oostlander came for the normalization of the Armenian-Turkish relations to be considered “the main political criterion” for Turkey’s accession to the EU in the report to be presented to and voted by the Foreign Relations Commission. As reported by “Arminfo” agency referring to “Star” Turkish newspaper, the newly appointed deputy prime minister and foreign minister of Turkey Abdullah Gul being present at a EU summit in Brussels considered the stand as “biased and not impartial” attitude towards his country.
