AZERI FRONTIER SERVICE TAKES INTENSIFIED MEASURES EXPECTING REFUGEE FLOW FROM IRAQ

The frontier service of Azerbaijan takes intensified measures due to the possible flow of refugees from Iraq. As reported by chief of the State Frontier Service of Azerbaijan Elchin Guliyev, “Novosti” Russian agency reports, additional frontier personnel and technical means are being transported to certain stretches of the border. In Guliyev’s opinion, Iraqi refugees will try to pass to Azerbaijan via the Iranian territory, if Iranian frontier services do not take necessary measures at the Iraqi-Iranian frontier.
