Due to unstable situation in the zone of the Georgian-Abkhazian conflict Georgian president Eduard Shevardnadze is not going to enroll Georgian rail workers in the restoration of the Abkhazian segment of the Sochi-Tbilisi railway. As reported by “Arminfo” agency, the Georgian head explained that gangster groupings operated in the conflict zone and thus sending rail workers there was not secure. He said other structures would engage in it, not specifying which ones. Eduard Shevardnadze reminded that in the course of the Sochi meeting with Russian president Vladimir Putin an agreement was arranged that restoration of rail communication via Abkhazia would be held simultaneously to the return of Georgian refugees to Abkhazia.
