The heads the Security Councils of the Treaty on Collective Security (TCS) participant states have passed a joint statement on the situation around Iraq in Moscow. As reported by “Interfax,” the participants of the 6-th sitting of the TCS Committee of the Security Councils secretaries expressed uneasiness on the beginning of the military operation in Iraq and called to return the situation to the peaceful course. “We deem it necessary to find a soonest possible solution of the Iraqi issue on the basis of the principles of the international law and under the aegis of the UN. At the same time the legal interests of the Iraqi people, the sovereignty and territorial integrity of Iraq should be taken into consideration,” – the statement says. Let us note that the TCS includes Armenia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Russia and Tajikistan. Let us remind that secretary of the Security Council under the Armenian president, defense minister Serge Sargsian participates in the TCS sitting in Moscow.
