EU ENLARGEMENT COMMISSIONER TO VISIT TURKEY

In the course of his latest visit to Turkey before the publication of the expanded report on that country EU Enlargement Commissioner Gunter Verheugen is scheduled to discuss with the Turkish Prime Minister Recep Erdogan the issues referring to Turkey’s meeting the EU political criteria. After that he is expected to meet with representatives of human rights organizations. To note, as European Parliament President Josef Borel stated at the European Parliament sitting planned in early October, the Turkish Premier will deliver a speech on the issues connected with the country’s membership in the EU.
