KARABAKH TALKS WILL HARDLY BE FROZEN UNTIL PRESIDENTIAL ELECTION IN AZERBAIJAN

The talks on the settlement of the Nagorno Karabakh conflict will hardly be frozen until presidential election is held in Azerbaijan. Armenian foreign minister Vardan Oskanian said in an interview to the Public Television Company of Armenia. “It is natural that the election in Azerbaijan will convey an impulse to the negotiation process. However, we suppose some processes also to take place before the election,” – he said. The foreign ministry head reported that the visit of the OSCE Minsk group co-chairs to the South Caucasian region was expected in April. At the same time he called the Azeri media reports that the co-chairs were working out new proposals on the Karabakh settlement a bit exaggerated. “We do not rule out the opportunity that the co-chairs have arranged a new document, but at best it will be a renewed version of the old proposal based on the same principles,” – V. Oskanian stated.
