Cardiff Council has recognized the Armenian Genocide in Ottoman Turkey in 1915. As reported 525 Azeri newspaper, City Council member Rodney Berman stated thereupon that a monument to Genocide victims will be erected in Cardiff in 2005. It became possible owing to the three-year work of Armenia-Wales friendship group. It should be noted that the group members considered the fact as a preliminary step on the way of acknowledgement of the Genocide by the UK.
