“The decaying regime can nothing but feel the waft, which caused revolutions in Georgia and Ukraine. I have no doubts that the same wind with its inherent speed will reach Azerbaijan one day”, one of the leaders of Talysh National Movement Fahraddin Abosade stated in his interview with Tolyshpress news agency when responding to the question on the intention of the Azerbaijani government to eliminate the Talysh activists. “The wish to physically eliminate political rivals is a characteristic feature of any authoritarian and totalitarian regime and Azerbaijan is no exception”, Aboszade considers. He also expressed opinion that at the time when the former Azeri opposition is completely exterminated, the Talysh National Movement (TNM) remains the only political force capable of resisting to the retributive machine of the current regime. The objective of the TNM is the restoration and protection of the rights of 1.5 million Talysh people. The Talysh politician also stressed that “the incumbent leadership is focused at “quartering Turkish soldiers, who learned the Azeri language and have been registered as Azeris, at the territory of Talysh, thus increasing the number of soldiers in the region”.
