CRUELTY OF ARMENIAN OFFICER’S MURDER SHOCKED HUNGARIAN INVESTIGATORS

“From the very beginning the unprecedented cruelty of the committed crime shocked not only journalists and ordinary civilians but also the Hungarian investigators who said that nothing of the kind ever happened during their service”, representative of the Armenian Defense Ministry at the Budapest trial Hayk Demoyan stated in his online interview. In his words, the cruelty of the committed crime played a decisive role for excluding the possibility of extradition of Ramil Safarov to Azerbaijan. Hungarians know that in the homeland Ramil Safarov is honored as a national hero. “You see, the cruelty of the murder and the attempts of the Azeri party to justify it are enough for an exterior observer not to delve into the details of the Karabakh conflict. Armenia lays stress on this aspect. The Hungarians and even seasoned investigators are shocked by all these facts”, Demoyan said. “I think that the Armenian society will make corresponding conclusion. But it does not mean that Armenians should feel depressed. The conclusion should be precise and fundamental. The example of the Budapest crime should remind each Armenian citizen that the war is not over yet and any of us can become a target. Our position should be directed towards prevention of similar crimes in future”, he resumed.
