The report of the mission of European observers on the presidential elections in Armenia will be heard at the sitting of the Bureau of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe in Paris today. According to the information placed at the PACE site, PACE president Peter Schieder and Council of Europe secretary general Walter Schwimmer will participate in the sitting. Let us remind that earlier the CE and PACE leaders expressed concern due to the presidential elections in Armenia falling short of international standards of democratic elections. “The responsibility for violations is yet to be determined, but it is already obvious that these cannot remain without consequences,” – they said. Let us note that the situation in Chechnya regarding the coming referendum on the Constitution will also be discussed at the PACE Bureau sitting.
