DEMIRCHIAN READY TO DIALOGUE WITH AUTHORITIES UNDER CERTAIN CONDITIONS

The Armenian opposition is ready to a dialogue with the Republic authorities. Leader of the People party of Armenia, presidential contender Stepan Demirchian said at a meeting with journalists today. At the same time, as reported by “De Facto” agency, he conditioned the opportunity of holding such a dialogue by the authorities fulfilling a number of conditions, the main of which being punishment of those, who were somehow implicated in transgressions of the Electoral Code in the course of the presidential elections. The People party leader confirmed that opposition intended to appeal against the returns of the presidential elections at the Constitutional Court. Demirchian again said gerrymander had taken place, which could influence the final results in his opinion. He also stated that he intended to participate in the coming elections of the National Assembly of Armenia March 25. He interpreted the decision that “robust political forces should be represented in the parliament.”
