TIME NOT WORKING IN FAVOR OF ARMENIA OR AZERBAIJAN IN KARABAKH SETTLEMENT, OSCE MG FORMER AMBASSADOR SUPPOSES

In the issue of the Nagorno Karabakh settlement the time does not work in favor of either Armenia or Azerbaijan, former Russian Co-Chair of the OSCE Minsk Group Nikolay Gribkov stated, when commenting on the current state of the negotiation process. In his words, the loss of time at the talks moves the parties away from the opportunities of peace and increases the scope of the problem. «Resulting from the unsolved conflict Armenia was excluded from economic development. As of Azerbaijan, there is 1 million refugees in that country and the land is occupied,» N. Gribkov said. The Russian diplomat is worried that in both countries new generation is growing up, which are enemies to each other, and «radical forces» are formed. In his opinion, in their future activities the OSCE MG Ambassadors should be guided by «public opinion and for that the authorities and the opposition in both countries should unite.» «The solution of the problem depends on the countries. This reality is seen in the latest talks,» he said. Touching upon the past talks, N. Gribkov noted with regret that the parties to the conflict did not display any compromise.
