The second round of the presidential elections of Armenia has begun in an organized way and without violations. Chairman of the CIS executive committee, head of the CIS observation mission Yuri Yarov said today in an interview to “Armenia” TV channel. However, he stated the observers noted reproduction of some shortcomings, which could have been avoided after the first round. Specifically in his words, cases are registered when people’s names are not on the electoral rolls and they have to go to the law to restore their electoral rights. At the same time he noted that people who had restored their electoral rights via court in the first round were not among these. Y.Yarov also reported that rumors were being spread, which were not confirmed by any observer or proxy, including those of S.Demirchian. “For example, we were told that that gerrymander would occur due to the fact that the envelopes containing stamps for polling stations had the stations’ numbers instead of being sealed by the stamp of the central electoral commission,” – Y.Yarov said. He emphasized that the information was verified at all stations he had managed to visit. “We can state that no such facts were registered at any of the election centers we have visited,” – the observation mission head stated.
