According to 168 Zham daily, Prosperous Armenia member Samvel Balasanyan is set to replace current mayor of Gyumri Vardan Ghukasyan on November 12.
However, Balasanyan has expressed readiness to assume the post a month earlier, which will enable him as Gyumri mayor to meet with the chief of Russia presidential administration staff Sergei Ivanov on October 9.
Ghukasyan has agreed to resign earlier, the paper says.
