PARUYR HAYRIKIAN TO SUPPORT KOCHARIAN IN ELECTION SECOND ROUND

The Self-Determination Union headed by Paruyr Hayrikian may support incumbent Armenian president Robert Kocharian in the second round of the Armenian presidential elections. In union secretary Hakob Yumushadian’s words, it will become possible if R.Kocharian makes a public statement on the reasons of dragging out the constitutional changes and amnesties people lately detained for offences in the course of the opposition meetings and processions. H.Yumushadian noted that “the union stil considers the first round of the elections as unfair.” Speaking of the other candidate for the president Stepan Demirchian he noted “a meeting with his representatives indicated that the candidate did not have any collective feeling and a unified program.”
